This one humble man has done more for the sport of Motocross in Missouri than any other.

The Community Foundation is authorized to accept charitable contributions to the Fund subject to the terms set forth herein.

I intend that the income and principal from the Fund provide annual scholarships for the purpose(s) stated below.

Purpose
This scholarship is in memory of Jerry Sharp (The Possum) who promoted motorcycle racing throughout Missouri.

Student Eligibility
The students eligible for assistance shall be graduating seniors intending to continue their education through a two or four year college and/or technical school. They must have competed in the Missouri State Motocross Series or the Hare Scramble Series. These scholarships will be supplemental for students who have already earned athletic and/or academic scholarships. Consideration will be given to financial need and the student's work and community service record. Student must continue to attend classes and keep a 2.0 grade point average (or equivalent).

Type and Amount of Aid
The type and amount of aid shall be at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation and may include, but is not necessarily limited to, one annual $1000 scholarship which will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in equal payments in August and January. The student must continue to attend classes and maintain a 2.0 grade point average in order to receive the second payment. This scholarship is not automatically renewable, however, students may reapply for subsequent years.

Application Deadline
All applications must be postmarked by March 31st

Advisory Committee
An Advisory Committee shall recommend scholarships from the Fund to eligible students and recommend to the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation such other actions as it deems appropriate under such rules of procedure as the Advisory Committee may adopt. The Community Foundation may act upon receiving and approving the written recommendation of the Chairperson of the Advisory Committee. It is understood that the Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the Community Foundation and the manager of scholarship funds for the Community Foundation shall have the ultimate authority to select scholarship recipients. It is also understood that the Advisory Committee is accountable to the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation and that all grants for travel, study or other similar purposes shall be awarded pursuant to an objective and non-discriminatory procedure that has been approved by the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation. We recommend that the following persons, as attached, serve as the initial Advisory Committee for the Fund.
